Geologic Scientist
Department of Conservation and Natural Resources - Harrisburg, PA
This is scientific work in the field of geology in the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Employees in this position participate in studies, investigations, preparation of reports, specialized mapping assignments, and dissemination of information regarding PA geologic resources such as groundwater, energy, minerals, geologic hazards, or other aspects of geology or landscapes. Duties include assisting senior scientists in gathering, analyzing and interpreting geologic data to determine mineralogy and petrology and creating geologic maps or reports associated with the quality and quantity of groundwater and its glow paths, coal, coal bed methane, natural gas, and petroleum bearing rock, minerals, sink holes, landslides, and naturally occurring elements.
