Curatorial Assistant, Section of Vertebrate Paleontology

Carnegie Museum of Natural History seeks a Curatorial Assistant in the Section of Vertebrate Paleontology (VP) to provide assistance to the Collection Manager, Section Head, and other staff to preserve and maintain the VP collections. Principal responsibilities include the repair, conservation, maintenance, and cleaning of fossil vertebrate specimens (including those on public display), making storage and support mounts for specimens, and assisting the Collection Manager and/or Section Head in their duties (e.g., labeling and cataloguing fossils, organizing collections, packing/unpacking specimen loans, assisting with visits from external scientists). Additional duties include preparation, molding, and casting of fossil vertebrates (with the opportunity to train under VP staff with more experience in these areas) and participation in the Section's outreach endeavors (e.g., tours of the collection) as needed.
