GIS Technicians
Adecco, the world's leading Staffing Company, is currently recruiting for several GIS Technician positions with a client in Topeka, KS. This is an opportunity to work with a well-respected, employee owned Engineer Firm with offices throughout the United States.

Key Responsibilities:
-Data conversion/migration and map production in accordance with mapping standards, while creating the map environment within ArcMap, including the manipulation of layered information within this environment.
-Preparation of GIS data, including analysis support.
-Creation of geographic maps by means of available datasets.
-Setup coordinate system information.
-Setup applicable attribute information.
-Draw, digitize map features into ArcMap from hard copy source material.
-Edit and create new features, feature classes within the map environment.
-Import/convert CADD features into ArcMap.
-Create and edit annotation and labeling.
-Development and support of geographic databases.
-Perform research into emerging GIS technologies.
-Learn new technologies and strengthens the company's GIS service.
-Preparation of GIS data, including analysis support and linear referencing system.

Education:
High school diploma required. Technical school or additional relevant education preferred.

Skills/Training/Qualifications:
-1+ years experience working with GIS.
-Experience using ESRI, Intergraph, or Bentley software products.
-Familiarity with ArcGIS, specifically ArcMap.
-Strong experience in Geographic and Spatial methodologies.
-Good understanding of development languages and their application.
-Strong map production skills.

2-4 years' experience working with GIS required. Experience using ESRI, Intergraph, or Bentley software products preferred. Familiarity with ArcGIS, specifically ArcMap. Strong experience in Geographic and Spatial methodologies strongly preferred.

GIS Analysts

-Produce maps, provide web-based mapping support, develop spatial and non-spatial databases, and provide support to other GIS staff or team members.
-Meet with users (staff or clients) to develop project requirements and use those specifications to promote the development of GIS application solutions.
-Use advanced technical skills to ensure GIS technology is used properly and efficiently in the company.
-Assist in the planning for GIS projects, including development of the project scope, task organization, estimates of effort and other required resources, and schedules necessary to complete the project.
-Participate in the production of project deliverables.
-Prepare, conduct and document all progress reviews and other GIS Analysts and GIS Technicians assigned to the project to meet project deadlines; mentor and develop project team members.
-Participate in the training of employees and clients, including the design and development of a training program.
-Serve as quality assurance on GIS project work.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills, and interpersonal skills to maintain client and employee relationships
-Understanding and experience with linear Referencing Systems
-Principles of cartography, including coordinate systems and projections, map composition and symbology
-Spatial Data acquisition/production, analysis, interpretation and management
-Spatial analysis and geoprocessing tools
-GIS use and application
-Aerial photography and other raster expertise
-GPS familiarity

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geographic Information Science (GIS), Cartography, Computer Science, or Engineering required.

Experience:
3-5+ years' experience demonstrating an increase in the complexity of responsibilities and analysis required. 1-2 years' experience as project lead in GIS strongly preferred. Must have knowledge/experience in geographic concepts and computer application systems. Extensive experience using GIS software required.

GIS Internship (Summer)
WaterOne is searching for a talented, motivated, and eager-to-learn GIS Intern for our Information Technology Department.  This excellent, paid-internship will provide a great opportunity for you to gain real world experience by assisting our IT Department on a multitude of projects that are critical to the organization!

Responsibilities:
You will play an important role by collecting field data, performing map editing using ArchInfo GIS software, updating attribute data for specific GIS projects, and performing data analysis.  This excellent opportunity gives you the chance to utilize your hard work and knowledge of GIS while learning from an experienced team who are ready to help you grow and develop!

Qualifications:
-We are looking for candidates who have a passion for GIS, mapping, and IT who want to make the most out of an opportunity to apply their education, skills, and talents!
-The successful candidate must have graduated from high school in the class of 2016 or currently be enrolled in a college or university.
-You must:
-Have experience with ArchInfo GIS software, Trimble GPS equipment experience is a plus
-Have strong computer (Word and Excel) and technical skills
-Be able to commit to working with us for a minimum of 12 weeks
-Have valid driver's license and a good driving record
-Pass a post offer medical exam, including background verification and drug screen
-Be able to move or transport items weighing up to 50 lbs
-Be able to work Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm (40 hours per week)
